Aat Apprentice Bookkeeper
Job Description
We are a busy accountancy firm with two offices and a rapidly expanding bookkeeping portfolio. We wish to recruit a bright individual looking for an apprenticeship in accountancy, with the opportunity to ultimately become a fully qualified bookkeeper. The role would involve doing the bookkeeping and VAT returns for a number of our clients, with the view to moving on to some of our more complex clients once the candidate evolves through their studies. Bookkeeping would mainly be done using Xero cloud based software.
The role is based at our Exeter office in Pynes Hill and would be for 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm. You would be provided with paid study leave and all the costs of the AAT qualification would be met by the firm.
As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will work directly with the clients to maintain their financial records. Therefore, good interpersonal skills and organisation are both key, the ability to work under pressure and to prioritise your own workload is essential at being successful within this role.
Attention to detail is crucial, clients have an expectation that there records are maintained accurately and meeting this requirement is critical.
The starting salary for this role is 17,000 with regular pay reviews every 6 months.
Minimum requirements
- To be considered you must have at least 8 GCSEs at Grade 5 (C) or above, with Maths and English at GCSE grade 6 (B) or above.
In both of the above cases, equivalent qualifications are acceptable.
