A well-established and growing accountancy practice is now looking for an AAT-qualified accountant/bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will focus on bookkeeping tasks and preparing accounts up to trial balance level. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on bookkeeping and wants to develop further within a supportive, professional environment.

Role Requirements

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients. Prepare accounts up to trial balance level. Process purchase and sales ledger entries, reconciliations and journals. Assist with VAT returns and other compliance work as required. Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries. Support senior staff with handover of trial balance for completion of accounts.

Personal Requirements

AAT qualified (Level 3 or 4) or equivalent experience. Strong bookkeeping skills with proven experience preparing up to trial balance. Good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks). Attention to detail with excellent organisational skills. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to client service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
