Preston, PR2 - incorporating hybrid working

Hours:

Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Salary:

42,000 - 47,000 per annum, dependant on experience

The Role





Reporting to the Head of Site Operations, the AATF Compliance & Data Manager will take ownership of all WEEE compliance and data activities across our AATF operations. This role is critical in ensuring Recycling Lives Services remains fully compliant with UK WEEE Regulations and maintains accurate, validated data across all accredited sites.



You will act as the subject matter expert for AATF data, oversee regulatory submissions, manage internal processes, lead audits, and maintain strong working relationships with Producer Compliance Schemes and the Environment Agency. You will also provide day-to-day leadership to the Weighbridge and AATF Administrative teams, ensuring high-quality and timely outputs.

Key Responsibilities




Data Quality & Validation




Oversee and take accountability for all WEEE data recorded at RLS AATF sites. Direct Weighbridge Operators to ensure accurate categorisation, allocation, and data entry. Complete quarterly and annual reconciliations against WEEE Online, resolving any discrepancies. Investigate data queries raised internally or by Schemes and issue timely responses.

Regulatory Reporting & Submissions




Lead creation and submission of ICER reports within regulatory and contractual deadlines. Manage quarterly and annual submissions to the Environment Agency, ensuring 100% accuracy. Log estimated collection volumes and manage evidence trade agreements with Schemes. Communicate proactively with Schemes regarding under/over-supply forecasts.

Compliance & Governance




Maintain expert knowledge of UK WEEE Regulations and support the delivery of all AATF accreditation requirements. Lead the development and ongoing improvement of AATF procedures in line with ISO standards. Investigate non-conformance, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

People Management




Line manage the Weighbridge Operator(s) and AATF Administrative team. Manage performance, workload allocation, training, and development.

Stakeholder Management




Act as the primary compliance/data contact for Producer Compliance Schemes. Engage professionally with EA officers on audits, data queries, and governance matters. Lead all EA AATF audits, including preparation, delivery, and completion of follow-up actions.



The Ideal Candidate




Experience working within WEEE compliance, AATF operations, environmental compliance, regulatory reporting or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of UK WEEE Regulations (desired but not essential if willing to learn). Excellent data accuracy, validation, and analysis skills. Strong organisational and reporting capability with high attention to detail. Confident stakeholder manager, able to represent RLS professionally with Schemes and regulatory bodies. Experience leading or supervising a small team. Process-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement. Able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
