We are looking at an Academic Achievement Consultant (Maths and Stats) to deliver and coordinate the maths and statistics support as part of the Centre for Academic Achievement at the University of Leicester. In this role, you will provide appointment-based, drop-in and small group teaching support to students at all levels of study, but particularly those studying undergraduate and taught postgraduate modules. You will advise senior staff on the mathematics and statistics support needs of students and be an advocate for and promote the Centre's role in supporting the academic skills development needs of students. You will be responsible for managing a small team of maths advisors, including supporting peer mentoring initiatives. A key responsibility will be to work with education leaders in the development of asynchronous and other types of tools to assist independent learning.###
About you
As the ideal candidate you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, in mathematics and have a working knowledge of statistics. You will have experience of teaching or tutoring students in a secondary school, or further or higher education context and an enthusiasm for mathematics and statistics, with an ability to impart this enthusiasm to students. You will take a student-centred and empathic approach to support students.
