About the Role

Teach South is seeking enthusiastic and motivated

Academic Mentors

to join a supportive secondary school in

Rye

. This is an exciting opportunity for

graduates in Maths, English, or Science

who are passionate about education and eager to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.

As an Academic Mentor, you'll work closely within your subject department to provide targeted academic support, helping students to build confidence and improve their understanding. You'll play a key role in raising attainment by delivering small group sessions, one-to-one support, and classroom assistance.

This is an excellent

for graduates considering a future in education -- many of our mentors go on to teacher training or further school-based roles.

Key Responsibilities

Support students in

Maths, English, or Science

through one-to-one or small group intervention sessions. Work alongside teachers to help plan and deliver learning activities. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic potential. Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

About You

A

recent graduate

(or soon-to-be graduate) in

Maths, English, or Science

. Passionate about education and supporting young people. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, reliable, and proactive in approach. Ideally interested in progressing into teacher training or education-related careers.
