Academic Representation Coordinator Job description

The Role

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK\'s longest-established specialist providers of legal education. With an alumni network in excess of 71,000, we\xe2\x80\x99ve trained more practising lawyers in the UK than anyone else.

As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for a high-calibre individual to join our Students\xe2\x80\x99 Union team as an Academic Representation Coordinator on a permanent basis.

Please note: this position can be homebased, hybrid or based at any of The University of Law UK campuses

This is a new position as the Students\xe2\x80\x99 Union is undergoing significant development and expansion. The Students\xe2\x80\x99 Union is a centralised service within The University of Law, which operates across many UK and international campuses.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enter a well-established and respected department. As our Academic Representation Coordinator, you will be you will be coordinating and developing an Academic Representation scheme that accurately and legitimately represents ULaw students and creates positive change.

We are looking for an individual that is excited about supporting students and being part of a constantly changing environment. Having a positive impact on the student experience is at the forefront of what we do, and we would love an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team to support academic representation and our ever-growing Skills Development Programme.

As our Academic Representation Coordinator, your duties will include:

  • Coordinate and develop an academic representation scheme that accurately and legitimately represents ULaw students and creates positive change
  • Supporting Programme Reps to campaign and lead change on particular issues identified as relevant to their academic community
  • Overseeing the SSLC records system and providing training to Programme and Student Leads on how to schedule and lead SSLCs
  • Developing and delivering a wide range of opportunities as part of the Skills Development Programme, complementary to the offerings of the Employability Team
We are looking for people who are/have:
  • Experience of working with volunteers and providing training to a range of different audiences
  • An understanding of issues affecting students within Higher Education
  • Commitment to principles of equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experiencing in analysing quantitative and qualitative data, interpreting this for written and verbal presentations
