FTE: 1fte (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH5 \xc2\xa326,642 to \xc2\xa329,762 per annum by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 Days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: MacLaurin Building, Hatfield

Main duties & responsibilities

The successful Candidate will be responsible for all administration associated with Research Degrees students, with specific responsibility for the administration of PGR students in the areas of Education, Humanities, Law, Business and Creative Arts. You will act as clerk to any designated meetings and assist with the development and implementation of administrative procedures for research students. You will assist with all matters relating to the admission and enrolment of research students, administering the student records, advising students on non-academic matters and liaising with Doctoral College staff within Academic Services and other relevant departments including Finance and Human Resources.

Skills and experience needed

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive and flexible to requirements; accuracy and attention to detail are key requirements within this role. You may have relevant administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation, and experience of working in Higher Education administration is desirable.

Your application will evidence good IT skills and that you are numerate and literate. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care with a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner. The ability to collect, process and present complex data is key. Tact and diplomacy, with the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality is crucial.

You will be required to work flexibly and adaptably, being effective in a team setting, with a can-do attitude. You\'ll have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, processes and institutional culture and to be proactive in promoting change.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of A-levels or equivalent Qualification or have proven professional work experience.

Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or proven professional work experience is desirable.
