Job Description

Day-to-day, the successful candidate will attend reactive callouts in residential and commercials buildings in east London / south Essex, with occasional work required in Southend-on-Sea, where our office is based.

About the Role

Plan IT Support is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Access Control Engineer to join our growing team. Based in East London, you'll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault resolution of door access control and CCTV systems across residential and commercial client sites.

This is a hands-on, field-based role with a strong customer-facing component. You'll also deliver user training and produce relevant documentation, so solid IT skills and PC competency are essential to succeed in the role.

Key Responsibilities

Install and configure door access control and CCTV systems. Commission and test new systems to ensure full functionality. Conduct regular PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) servicing. Troubleshoot and rectify faults in a timely, professional manner. Provide client handovers and system training. Maintain accurate service and installation records. Represent the company professionally on-site, with strong communication and customer service.

About You

1-2 years of hands-on experience in access control and/or CCTV system installation. Competent with computers - able to navigate system interfaces, update documentation, and use software tools with ease. Strong problem-solving ability with an eye for detail. Capable of working independently or as part of a team. Comfortable interacting with clients and delivering on-site training. Full UK driving licence required. Right to work in the UK.
Note: Industry certifications are not mandatory, but practical experience and computer literacy are essential.
