Access to HE Course Manager

Location: York

Contract: Part Time, Full Year, Permanent

About the role:



We have an exciting opportunity for a HE Course Manager - Access to Higher Education (Hybrid) with strong knowledge of HE and land-based courses, and holding at least a BSc in a relevant field, to join our Land-based Higher Education Department at our York campus. This role is for 14.8 hours per week (0.4 FTE) on a permanent contract.

We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for managing the onboarding of students, overseeing course content on the VLE platform, conducting assessments, and providing academic support to our Access to HE student cohort. Sector experience and specific knowledge of the transition from Further Education (FE) to Higher Education (HE) will be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be an organised, self-driven individual who relishes the opportunity to manage their time flexibly. Reporting to the Head of Department, a key strategic focus of the role will be developing the recruitment potential of the Access to HE provision.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject, and hold a teaching qualification, with excellent knowledge of land-based courses. A good understanding of Higher Education within a college-based provision is also essential.

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Gateshead.
