We are seeking a meticulous and organised Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance team in Halesowen.
In this role, you will provide crucial support to the Finance Director and assist in the day-to-day running of the accounts department. Your primary goal will be to ensure the company's financial records are accurate and that payments are processed and received in a timely manner. This is a solely office-based role.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
Purchase Ledger:
Processing and coding supplier invoices , matching them to purchase orders , reconciling supplier statements , and preparing payment runs.
Sales Ledger & Credit Control:
Raising and distributing sales invoices , allocating customer payments , and proactively chasing outstanding debts by phone and email.
General Administration:
Processing employee expense claims , assisting with bank reconciliations , supporting the preparation of month-end reports , and making travel and accommodation bookings for field-based staff.
What we are looking for (Essential):
Previous experience in an accounts or finance-based role.
Demonstrable experience with purchase and sales ledgers.
Experience in performing credit control duties.
Specific experience using Sage 50.
A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
A trustworthy, discreet, and reliable nature.
A methodical and organised approach to work.
It would be a bonus if you have (Desirable):
Experience processing payroll.
An AAT qualification or are part-qualified.
What we offer:
A competitive salary of 26,000 - 27,000.
Consistent working hours of 07:30 - 16:30.
