The Account Manager will use strong analytical abilities to monitor stock trends, evaluate supplier performance, optimise product ranges, and identify new business opportunities. The role will also support sales growth by ensuring competitive pricing, maintaining high standards of product availability, and contributing to the supermarket's continued success within the diverse Croydon community.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, management accounts, and performance reports.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping, including invoices, purchase orders, expenses, and supplier records.
Process payroll, staff hours, holiday pay, and statutory deductions.
Manage VAT returns, HMRC submissions, and ensure compliance with UK tax and accounting regulations.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, including monitoring COGS and labour costs.
Conduct bank reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, and maintain internal financial controls.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, suppliers, and management on financial matters.
Analyse financial data to identify trends, provide insights, and support senior decision-making.
Maintain financial systems, documentation, and audit-ready records.
Experience
Proven experience in B2B sales or account management, preferably within a similar industry
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is essential
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
