Planning Network equips law firms, local authorities, and planning professionals across the UK with essential tools, insights, and intelligence. We deliver the latest policy updates, legislative changes, appeal decisions, and business opportunities, helping our subscribers stay ahead in a fast-changing sector.
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded salesperson to expand and manage our subscriber base. The role will involve working with a diverse range of clients, including leading planning consultancies, law firms, architects, local authorities, SMEs, and sole traders. You'll need to build strong relationships, adapt to client needs, and ensure long-term engagement through effective management of subscriptions, renewals, and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Core objectives

  • Develop and nurture your existing client base, driving growth, retention, and new business opportunities
  • Run training sessions with clients to ensure maximum engagement and increased renewal rates. Face-to-face and online webinars
  • Manage and improve renewals; identify and move on opportunities to upsell these to Planning Network
  • Understand and sell our new 'Rhino' products to help justify price increases.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Build relationships with key identified clients within the Planning Industry
  • Successful account management to ensure high renewal rates and revenue growth year-on-year.
  • Win back subscribers who have previously cancelled their subscriptions.
  • Chase customers who query their invoice or are behind on payment.
  • Work with the Sales Team to identify successful objection-handling techniques.
  • Explore and develop new market opportunities as they arise.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria:
Key Qualities and Experience
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about taking ownership of client relationships, from creating opportunities to building long-term revenue-driven relationships.
  • Experience in subscription sales, both single and multi-user subscriptions.
  • A driven and ambitious individual, able to take initiative and work independently, managing your client base.
  • A highly professional individual who demonstrates integrity in their work with a long-term approach to relationship building.
  • Collaborative approach working with different teams across the DCS Team.
