The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and retaining a portfolio of client accounts while identifying new business opportunities to support overall company growth. The role combines proactive account management, technical understanding, and professional sales skills to ensure high-quality solutions and a five-star customer experience.
This position requires regular client visits, technical surveys, management of a personal quotation bank, collaboration with technical teams, and consistent achievement of sales targets. The role sits within a highly responsive market, offering the opportunity to sell advanced electronic security system technologies.
Responsibilities
Customer Relationship & Account Management
Operate as the sales point of contact for your portfolio of clients.
Hold regular client review meetings in line with the Account Management Procedure.
Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
Identify business opportunities among existing customers and help grow recurring revenue streams.
Develop, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with new and existing key clients to secure sustainable growth.
Prevent customer attrition, monitor competitive activity and share intelligence with Sales Manager.
Sales Activities
Identify, generate, and convert new sales opportunities within your portfolio for Clarion's scope of work
Conduct site surveys, prepare quotations, and follow up in accordance with procedures.
Achieve sales targets and contribute to the agreed sales strategy.
Secure new business received via incoming leads from various sources and as allocated by the Sales Manager
Deliver specification / solution-based sales presentations to clients within Company guidelines and timeframes.
Administer and manage your own quotation bank to maximise conversion rates and deliver accurate weekly forecasts.
Ensure all sales documentation is accurate and complete before handover.
Prepare accurate forecast each month and attend internal sales meeting to review
Technical Collaboration
Liaise with technical teams to design and develop tailored IT and electronic security solutions.
Provide ongoing feedback from clients to support the continuous improvement of solutions and services.
Use broad knowledge of technologies to troubleshoot issues and deliver exceptional client support.
Marketing & Business Development
Support sales campaigns, exhibitions, demonstrations, and promotional activities.
Assist with the implementation and review of sales strategies to grow market share.
Network actively to obtain referrals, testimonials, and insights.
Skills
Extensive professional B2B direct sales experience within Electronic Security (Intruder, CCTV, Access Control).
Experience in solution/specification-based sales.
Strong commercial sales background with a proven track record of sales and profit growth.
Strategic channel/account management and forward planning skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales tools such as Quotewerks / CASH / Excel.
Current clean driving licence.
Ability to pass security screening processes.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes of practice (advantageous).
