You'll play a key part in delivering accurate, timely financial information, supporting operational decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Management Accountant Role Responsibility
Overseeing supplier rebate management, including recording, reconciliation, and correct allocation to branch accounts (circa 12 million per annum)
Assisting the Financial Controller with preparation of management accounts and general ledger analysis
Generating and distributing monthly sales reports to key stakeholders
Acting as a point of contact for branch managers regarding management account queries
Performing balance sheet reconciliations
Processing inter-business recharges
Preparing and maintaining KPI reporting
Processing and analysing expense invoices
Supporting the wider Management Accounts team with holiday cover as required
Publishing daily league table reporting to the wider business
Assisting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc finance projects and tasks
Providing cover for purchase and sales ledger functions when needed
Supporting year-end audit and statutory reporting processes
Developing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting tools
Contributing to project work, such as system upgrades, cost reviews, or margin analysis
Mentoring junior finance staff (for more experienced candidates)
Undertaking any other duties as required by management
Please note: The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake additional responsibilities in line with business needs.
Educated to GCSE level with a minimum of 5 passes at Grade 5-9, to include Maths and English
Prior experience of working within an all-round accounts role including purchase and sales ledgers
Experience of a busy multi branch ledger
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Prior experience of Kerridge system (desirable)
Great communication skills; confident when liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
Good planning and organisational skills
Be able to work on your own initiative in a methodical and organised way
Effective time management skills
An ability to quickly grasp any new IT software and systems
