UK Account Manager \xe2\x80\x93 South West of England and South Wales

Your new role:

In your role as UK Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing QuidelOrtho Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Laboratory business lines within a prescribed territory (South West of England and South Wales) to deliver set individual and national sales targets and objectives. This role will require you to manage existing hospital customer base in both the Clinical Chemistry and Blood Transfusion markets, with the goal of retaining core accounts and growing revenues whilst maintaining the required profitability and excellent customer relationships. In addition, the role will also require you to prospect for competitive opportunities and drive profitable growth through the acquisition of new competitive business primarily via Pan Pathology Managed Service proposals. You will utilise Account Management Tools and Sales process to ensure the correct prioritization of accounts and relationship management within the entire account and its hierarchy to maximize QuidelOrtho proposal impact. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of UK IVD industry and Pathology market to ensure high quality customer interaction and effectiveness in role.

You will develop in-depth product and competitor knowledge to have the ability to present and advise on laboratory process, technical specifications and laboratory best practice. Within this role you will work closely with the Commercial, Marketing and Support teams to develop innovative proposals that secure contract extensions and new competitive business.

What you\'ll be doing:

  • Schedule appointments and make pre-planned sales presentations to customers utilising core marketing selling tools and product knowledge.
  • Actively seek and sell to potential new customers.
  • Demonstrate the platforms and products confidently to potential and existing customers.
  • Promote and coordinates professional education activities where appropriate to enhance the knowledge of health care professionals. This may include travel abroad.
  • Make regular visits to customer locations to ensure quality of our products and equipment is actively monitored, to gather information on orders and market conditions.
  • Perform contract renewals/extensions and tender management activities in conjunction with the commercial team.
  • Develop customer and product focused presentation packages aligned to our core marketing campaign.
  • Prepare sales reports and documents as detailed by the Sales manager.
  • Follow up with customers to resolve any supply and quality issues and ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide input to sales forecasting for business planning.
  • Relay relevant market information to the marketing and management teams.
  • Identify potential impacts to business by a thorough understanding of the NHS landscape and emerging networks.
  • Identify competitor activities and actively manages the sales process to enhance our positioning.
  • Remain up to date on competitor activities, feeding into the sales, support and commercial team at regular intervals.
  • Actively utilise the competency framework to self-drive high performance.
  • Maintain and updates CRM (SalesForce) regularly in line with the needs of the business.
What you\'ll need to succeed:
  • Degree Level is preferred from a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in NHS Pathology laboratory.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in Medical diagnostic sales.
  • Desirable: Previous experience with QuidelOrtho products
  • Full current UK driving license.
  • Ability to travel in the UK with some overnight stays and occasional European travel.
  • Ability to drive results and associated tasks within territory, aligned with the key business objectives.
  • Show customer focus, anticipating and meeting customer needs, proving prompt follow-up when and where required.
  • Instil trust from customer base and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain integrity and professional code of conduct.
  • Ability to demonstrate situational adaptability and flexibility to the changing needs of the business and customer requirements.
