Full time, Initially 2 years, strong possibility of being retained permanently.

We're looking for a Practice Manager to lead our practice in Wantage, blending hands-on portfolio work with leadership, people development, and strategic oversight. This is a senior role at the heart of our business, offering the opportunity to shape both the client experience and the team culture at a local level.

As Practice Manager, you'll:

Manage your own portfolio of clients, delivering excellent service and proactive advice Support and mentor Client Portfolio Managers and junior team members Oversee the day-to-day running of the Wantage office, ensuring everything runs smoothly Monitor and manage branch financial performance, including billing and budgeting Represent Charlton Baker locally and help us build meaningful connections in the community
We're looking for someone who:

Is a qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent) Has experience leading a team within an accountancy practice Combines technical skill with emotional intelligence and commercial awareness Brings energy, clarity and confidence to communication and decision-making Lives our values: real relationships, radical honesty, and freedom with responsibility
