Job Description

In response to the growth and increasing diversity of our business, we are currently seeking a skilled professional accountant to join our Finance team.


SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London's leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.


As the Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring that the accounting records are complete and accurate, as well as supporting the development and implementation of accounting systems and processes; ensuring these are efficient and effective. You will also be responsible for setting service charges across our schemes, monitoring and updating the financial data in the rents system and taking ownership of a large number of complex reconciliations across all balance sheet control accounts and bank recs.


With proven experience in the field, the ideal applicant will possess some experience of service charge setting for tenants. You will also be competent with Excel functions combined with the ability to handle and present large volumes of data. Additionally, you will need an exceptional attention to detail, be competent at managing conflicting deadlines and possess good communication skills.
