Job Description

The Accountant will manage all financial activities of the car dealership, including vehicle sales transactions, inventory valuation, accounts receivable/payable, and statutory compliance. This role requires strong knowledge of automotive dealership accounting, documentation processes, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities1. Vehicle Sales & Inventory Accounting



Record and reconcile all new and used vehicle sales transactions. Maintain accurate vehicle inventory records, including purchases, transfers, and sales. Track dealer stock, showroom stock, and floor plan (vehicle financing) accounts. Ensure proper documentation for sales, trade-ins, and RTO registrations.

2. Financial Recording & Reporting



Manage general ledger entries and monthly closing activities. Prepare financial statements, daily sales reports, and monthly MIS reports. Reconcile bank accounts, vehicle loan accounts, and customer ledgers. Monitor cash flow and working capital.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable



Process vendor invoices for spare parts, accessories, and workshop expenses. Reconcile receivables from customers, insurance companies, and finance companies. Follow up on collections and ensure timely payment to suppliers.

4. Tax Compliance & Documentation



Handle GST returns, TDS compliance, and other statutory filings. Ensure proper documentation of invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, and delivery challans. Support the external/internal audit process.

5. Dealership Finance Coordination



Coordinate with banks and finance companies for vehicle finance disbursements. Track incentives, commissions, and claims from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). Maintain records of extended warranty, insurance sales, accessories sales, and service packages.

Qualifications & Skills



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance. Experience in automotive dealership accounting preferred. Proficiency with dealership accounting software (e.g., AutoERP, Dealer Management System) and MS Excel. Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
