Manager - Agriculture & Property Clients
. This is a critical leadership role managing a portfolio of rural business clients, delivering tailored accounting and tax planning solutions, and supporting departmental development. The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent), possess deep knowledge of tax and accounts preparation within a practice environment, and demonstrate strong client relationship and team management skills.
You will be responsible for reviewing work, driving business development, supporting junior staff, and helping shape strategic direction across the Agriculture and Property department. Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of agriculture and property clients, delivering tailored accounting and tax planning services.
Provide exceptional service to clients across a range of areas in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Respond to client and third-party (e.g. HMRC) queries promptly and professionally.
Develop in-depth knowledge of client businesses to become a key day-to-day contact.
Review accounts and tax returns prepared by junior staff for both corporate and unincorporated clients.
Identify and escalate tax planning, VAT, NIC, or business opportunities as part of the review process.
Assist partners on advisory, business planning, and tax-specific assignments.
Manage departmental workload by effective delegation, team monitoring, and training.
Complete staff appraisals and support performance development across the team.
Ensure deadlines are met (e.g. statutory accounts, P11Ds, tax returns).
Control WIP and assist partners in progressing work to completion and billing.
Promote an efficient and cost-effective work environment through strategic planning and supervision.
Qualifications
Essential
: ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification, or equivalent experience.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Excellent computer literacy and ability to use relevant accounting systems.
Experience

: Minimum 3 years of accounts and tax experience within a practice environment.
Desirable
:
Previous experience at manager level in a practice.
Exposure to clients in rural business or related sectors.
