Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our busy team in Aberdeen.

Flexible hybrid working is available for this role.

Job objective:

To work with financial data to develop and maintain meaningful, interactive and easy to understand Power BI dashboards across the EMEA business.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand business goals, and what insights need to be derived from financial data
  • Develop, test and maintain dashboards and reports from the accounting system data
  • To analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making
  • To perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
  • Present data to business stakeholders and provide recommendations based on your analysis
  • Refreshing of dashboard for month end reporting activities
  • Reconciliation of financial data ensuring accurate reporting
  • Dashboard Troubleshooting
  • Power BI Training for Accountants and other business stakeholders
  • Work with the Wood Power BI Community to understand new functionality
  • Implement and maintain row level security across dashboards
  • Responsible for identifying and highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement and sharing of best practice within the function
  • Ensure compliance with all Wood policies including accounting and code of conduct
  • Execution of various ad hoc tasks as and when requested by Finance Lead, Contract / Delivery Managers or Finance Business Partners/Senior Finance Managers
Skills / Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Relevant accounting experience
  • Previous Power BI experience preferred especially with DAX but not essential
  • Understanding of SharePoint
  • Proficient user of Excel
  • Good commercial knowledge and understanding of contract commercials to appreciate how dashboard comes together.
  • Competent at using ERP/ forecasting systems

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective report writing and to support communication of financial information to non-finance people.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with people on the contract; be seen as a trusted business partner within the organisation
