Position Summary

The role is required to support the Senior Director of Finance and Finance Projects Director to ensure governance, compliance and internal controls operate effectively across EMEA.

Hence the role acts in close collaboration with the EMEA Finance regional Directors (UK/Ire/NL hub, South & East Europe hub, France & Benelux hub, DACH hub).

The role is critical to ensure full understanding of EMEA business results, support EMEA Corporate Function leaders, as well as run the EMEA HQ function in collaboration with USA Corporate HQ, to ensure control, compliance and adequate governance across the EMEA region.

This position is critical to ensure full understanding of EMEA business results, support EMEA Corporate Function leaders, and completion of holding company accounting and the preparation of financial statements under FRS102 for these entities

The position will also play a critical role working with the EMEA finance managers/business finance to ensure accuracy of reporting data. This role will also become involved in projects across EMEA with the opportunity to travel to our various sites.

Duties

1. Collaborate and liaise with EMEA subject matter experts and US Corporate process experts to drive consistency in process, performance management and knowledge sharing. Act as the communication channel across the Corporate Finance teams and interface with EMEA Business Finance.

2. Prepare month end close activities for various UK legal entities.
3. Co-ordinate company subject matter experts (US & EMEA) to deliver change initiatives by having a dotted line responsibility for the Region Transition Leads to drive consistency in process, performance management and knowledge sharing
4. Create and own cross-functional analytics projects from development to ongoing management
5. Identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage
6. Establish EMEA Commercial Operations KPI dashboards for monthly management business reviews
7. Use knowledge of business and data to discover and/or anticipate problems or opportunities where data can be leveraged to address the need
8. Applies data visualization, descriptive and summary statistical techniques for discovery and timely insights (data exploration, ad-hoc queries, and analysis)
9. . Experience implementing key performance indicators based on organizational strategy, including aligned executive dashboards
10. Advanced user in Tableau or Power BI reporting tools

11. Co-ordinate training needs across EMEA by working with Finance Hub Leads.

12. Oversee EMEA HQ Accounting & Reporting.

13. Oversee and review EMEA consolidated (P&L & BS & Blackline) with FDs and Business finance

14. Corporate Functions: ensure internal stakeholders receive adequate reporting. Support Corporate Functions with reporting and planning needs.

15. Oversee Compliance (SOX | Internal audit programmes with USA HQ), coordinate and review the Blackline reconciliation process, status and responsibility with the Process, Policy & Compliance lead.

16. Ensure compliance with Corporate policies and consistency of corporate finance processes across EMEA.

17. Co-ordinate technical training across EMEA around US GAAP/IFRS changes by working with the US Corporate Finance team.

18. Work closely with EMEA Senior Finance staff to support ad-hoc & transformation projects.

Education Degree

  • in Accounting
Required Experience

Experience in an accounting practice environment - minimum 3 years
Experience in EMEA or global HQ with holding company accounting and stat accounting experience

Qualified accountant with experience in preparing UK financial statements under FRS102

Skills

Technical Skills:

Strong technical accounting policy knowledge (FRS 102 / US GAAP)
Audit experience
Balance Sheet Controls & Reconciliation experience
Management reporting & consolidation experience & expertise in management reporting tools

Personal Competencies:
Strong team player, able to earn respect, maintain and build strong relationships across the EMEA finance, tax & treasury team, with the USA HQ corporate staff and business management staff in EMEA
Operates confidently in a matrix environment, able to lead change and influence indirect reports and project team members to deliver on agreed results, manages stakeholders with a no surprises approach
Energy and motivation to drive multiple projects to conclusion with relentless execution
Strong communicator both written and oral
Initiative and leadership, shows a \xe2\x80\x9ccan-do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude, able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise well
Understands the process and requirements of change management
Strong project management skills & well organised individual
Technology - ERP and planning and reporting systems knowledge and experience
European language skills a bonus
