An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our SEN service as we transform SEN and education on the Island. The post is responsible for ensuring delivery of a full management accounting service to the SEN statutory service, including financial advice, annual budget planning, monthly monitoring and forecasting and annual closedown of service budgets to enable budget managers to deliver a sustainable budget.
The post is hybrid with some time at County Hall in Newport.
What will you be doing?
Responsibility for transforming the SEN financial systems and improving accountancy practices
Work as part of a team, with a range of skillsets
Take responsibility for developing and monitoring spend, including KPI's
Contract monitoring and procurement of provision
Represent the department within the various meetings and partnerships
Work with senior colleagues to contribute towards our Area SEND preparation
Improve the outcomes for children and young people with SEND
About you
An experienced accountant or business manager
Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for the areas they lead on
Ability to access face to face meetings locally
High quality verbal and written communication skills
A commitment to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults
