Responsibilities:
Compliance and Reporting:
Work closely with the wider team to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports, corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, and other documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, nurturing and strengthening relationships.
Understand client needs, goals, and challenges to offer tailored financial solutions and advice.
Maintain regular communication to provide updates on financial matters and address client enquiries promptly.
Team Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage a team including junior staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and training.
Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring client deliverables are met with high quality and within specified timelines.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging team growth and development.
Financial Advisory and Planning:
Offer strategic financial advice, including corporate and personal tax planning, budgeting, and forecasting, to assist client financial performance.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, advising clients accordingly.
Business Development:
Collaborate on practice development to identify opportunities for business growth and expansion.
Contribute to the practice development, including reviewing new software to ensure continued improvement both internal systems, processes and client engagement.
Essential Skills
Relevant qualification such as ACCA, ACA or qualified by experience.
Minimum five years experience of working in an Accountancy Practice
Have good written and verbal communication skills to be able to deal with people at all levels.
Be willing to learn and develop your skills and experience.
Have good organisational skills that can be applied in a busy office environment.
Have excellent attention to detail.
It is unlikely candidates without relevant practice experience/qualifications will be considered.
Desirable Skills
Previous experience of using a variety of Accountancy software's including but not limited to Iris, Xero, Sage line 50, Sage 200 and Senta.
Be IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office.
