Salary range Band 8 SCP 30-32

Salary - 39,513 - 41,511

About the Role



Trafford's Financial Management service is an efficient and effective team that aims to continually strengthen and promote good financial management across the Council.


A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an accountant who will support the senior accountant with the responsibility for Adult Social Care and Wellbeing. This will include the preparation of budgets and monitoring support to budget holders and senior management.


The role will also include providing professional financial advice and support to the service areas, enabling them to understand financial implications and how this information is a key part of the decision-making process.


You will provide essential support in assessing service budget pressures to ensure that they are reflected in the Medium-Term Financial Plan.

About you




As a CCAB qualified accountant or equivalent in terms of experience,

you will have worked in a finance function within the public sector and preferably a wider understanding of current legislation and accounting arrangements relevant to Local government.


You will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated and professional individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with service managers and partners.


You will have excellent communication skills and be a flexible team player and proactive problem solver. Being enthusiastic about working hard for Trafford to make a positive difference for our residents is essential.
