We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant with a proven background in property finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of all financial operations within our property portfolio.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and maintain
accurate monthly and annual financial statements
for property portfolios, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Conduct
monthly reconciliations of client (landlord and tenant)
accounts
and actively assist in compliance reviews.
Oversee and ensure compliance for all tax-related reporting
, including the timely and accurate preparation and submission of all relevant
VAT returns
,
Corporation Tax
and supporting calculations for
Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
on property disposals, covering the strategic aspects of
Property Investment Tax.
Property Management Finance
Manage the
day-to-day financial operations
and general ledger within the property portfolio.
Execute the
management of monthly landlord payment runs
, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of rental income.
Collaborate closely with property management teams to proactively identify and resolve any
financial discrepancies or tenant/landlord account concerns.
Perform comprehensive
review and reconciliation of supplier/contractor accounts
in conjunction with the property team, ensuring all costs are accurately recorded and allocated.
Support property investment transactions and compliance
, including reviewing property cost data for
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)
purposes, and managing operational tax tasks such as the accurate withholding and reconciliation of
Non-Resident Landlord Scheme (NRLS) tax.
Key Requirements
Minimum three (3) years of professional accounting experience
, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.
Strong proficiency in general ledger management and the full accounting cycle (Bookkeeping).
Solid understanding of UK tax regulations and statutory compliance
(Taxation).
Demonstrable knowledge of financial accounting principles specific to real estate investment and property management.
Essential Skills & Attributes
High level of competence in
Microsoft Excel
for analysis, reporting, and data manipulation.
Proactive and solution-oriented approach
to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills
to liaise effectively with landlords, tenants, property managers, and external stakeholders.
Exceptional
attention to detail
and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload to meet strict monthly deadlines.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; 9:30-18:00; 8 hours shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 31,000.00 per year
