This role is critical to the successful reporting of monthly performance, quarterly performance and will oversee the preparation of the Group Annual Financial Statements. One of the key objectives of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of the audit process and the financial statements. In addition to develop existing processes and systems to improve the monthly and corporate reporting to deliver timely and insightful information to enable business decisions to be made.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor and manage cash flow and liquidity.
Oversee VAT, and HMRC processes.
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Planning & Analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Present profitability and cost analysis.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions.
Compliance & Audit
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and tax regulations.
Coordinate external audits.
Maintain strong internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor finance team members.
Delegate tasks and oversee performance.
Promote continuous improvement in accounting practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
Report to senior management and board members.
Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and external advisors.
Required Experience & Skills:
Previous industry experience
Strong technical background and skill set
Excellent communication skills - in all forms for each audience
Experience of working in several accounting systems with strong Excel skills
Proven track record of delivering and implementing change with a passion for improvement
Broad and varied experiences in role
Confident manner and ability to work well under pressure.
Willingness to grow and expand their role as the Group grows
The candidate can positively demonstrate ability to work well within a team and autonomous environment
Working knowledge of Project Accounting/Management - deadline/ delivery focused
Attention to detail, well-developed analytical skills and willing to participate and support the finance team as well as wider company operations
Flexible approach to support other areas of the finance function or business as and when required
