The Regimental Headquarters of the Royal Engineers are looking for an Accounts/Admin Clerk to join our busy Corps Funds department in Chatham on a full time, Monday - Friday basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong interest in bookkeeping/accounting, looking for an entry level position with the prospect to learn and develop their skills.
This role requires prior accounting experience or qualifications with MS Dynamics 365 - Business Central and applicants will be assessed on this during the interview phase.
Successful candidate will also have a knowledge of excel spreadsheets and be able to analyse data for reports.
Key responsibilities:
Answering incoming enquiries to the business, providing a high standard of customer care and directing queries to the appropriate colleague
Processing invoices for our suppliers (Purchase & Sales Ledgers)
Submitting VAT returns
Handling Petty Cash
Processing transactions
Using MS Dynamics 365 accounting software (Business Central)
Assisting with tasks for month-end, quarter-end & year-end reporting
Preparing accounts for annual audit
Assisting with staff payroll and pension delivery
Other administrative tasks to support the team at the appropriate level
