We are a local, family-run engineering business looking for an experienced Accounts & Administration professional to join our team on a part-time basis (minimum 3 days per week). Flexibility is important, as additional hours will vary to meet the demands of the business.
This is a stand-alone role, offering full autonomy and responsibility for the company's day-to-day financial and administrative tasks.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts & Administrative person to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by utilising their accounts knowledge along with strong administrative organisational skills. This position requires excellent communication skills and proficiency in IT applications; a good working knowledge of Sage50 essential for this position. Being able to prioritise and organise your own workload is a necessity.
Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of sales and purchase ledgers including:
customer invoicing
credit control
managing supplier invoices and payment runs
Processing credit card expenses
Bank reconciliations
Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
Collating and submitting monthly timesheets for payroll and processing payroll
Liaising with external Accountants and assisting with year end processes
General administrative tasks including travel and accommodation bookings
Providing other ad hoc administrative duties as required

Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' practical experience with Sage50 (essential)
Either part-qualified (ICB, AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience (QBE)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work independently
Flexible, hands-on attitude and a willingness to support the wider team
