As an Accounts and Audit Manager at our Eastbourne office, you will work as part of the Accounts and Audit team assisting on client accounting, tax compliance tasks and auditing tasks. The job role is likely to be 70% audit and 30% accounts and tax compliance work. The candidate must be ACA or ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with appropriate experience The candidate must have a minimum of 4 years practice experience, including 3 years in an audit role.
Responsibilities
As an Accounts and Audit Manager your main responsibilities will include:
Liaising with partners on client management, practice development, and business strategy.
Managing a varied portfolio of clients including group assignments, corporate clients, not for profit entities, CASS 5 and Solicitor Accounts Rules assignments.
Leading engagements ensuring timely and efficient completion, in compliance with ethical and professional standards.
Reviewing accounts preparation and corporate tax computations
Maintaining a high technical and professional standard and supporting junior staff members in these goals.
Thinking strategically about clients' needs by understanding their business and key risks and delivering a high-quality audit service.
Completing file reviews on a range of audit clients, utilising your existing technical knowledge and experience whilst developing your skills still further and ensuring quality standards are met.
Being instrumental in implementing compliance with regulatory standards and internal firm quality policies.
Developing the team and be a role model, whilst supervising and mentoring junior staff, assisting with the structuring of their training.
Skills required
ACA/ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with appropriate experience.
A minimum of three years recent practical audit experience.
Strong technical knowledge of Companies Act, FRC Ethical Standard, UK GAAP FRS102, LLP SORP and applicable audit standards.
Awareness of changes in current accounts and audit legislation.
IT proficiency and knowledge of standard accountancy packages such as CCH, Xero, Sage and Quickbooks.
Excellent personal organisational, communication and time management skills.
Analytical and enquiring mindset, including an acute attention to detail and professional approach to correspondence with clients.
Ability to work independently, including technical research, and as part of a team with others
Experience at managing teams including setting workflow and training, and reviewing work the of others.
Salary:
Dependent on experience and qualification
