Job Description

We are a well-established and reputable electrical supplies distributor with a strong track record of service and reliability. We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our customers and suppliers, and we're now seeking an experienced Accounts and Finance Manager to join our team on a part-time basis.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in managing the company's day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data. You will also take responsibility for producing monthly management reports and supporting decision-making at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.

Ensure data integrity through effective application of internal controls.

Produce monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance with variance analysis.

Provide ongoing financial support and insight to the Managing Director.

Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage overall cash flow processes.

Complete VAT returns in line with regulatory deadlines.

Process salary, accruals, and prepayments journals.

Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.

Perform credit card reconciliations and process supplier payments.

Oversee supplier invoice processing and approval workflows.

Manage credit control and prepare aged debtor and creditor reports.

Support the year-end audit process.

Carry out other finance-related duties as required.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in preparing management accounts.

AAT qualified or part-qualified with a globally recognised accounting body (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, VAT, payroll, and regulatory compliance (note: payroll currently outsourced).

Excellent financial reporting and data analysis skills.

Highly organised with strong time management and outstanding attention to detail.

Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts Professional, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels.
