Job Purpose:



We're looking for an Accounts and Office Assistant to join our growing team and play a vital role in keeping our financial operations seamless and efficient, while also supporting the smooth running of the office. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the construction industry who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in preparing accurate financial reports, invoices, and statements

Record and reconcile all financial transactions promptly and accurately

Maintain well-organised and up-to-date financial records

Support month-end and year-end close processes

Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and petty cash

Process supplier invoices and expenses using AutoEntry and Sage

Assist with VAT returns and ensure CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) compliance

Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on financial matters

Support the accounts department with ad hoc finance admin tasks

Answer incoming calls and emails, and manage general office enquiries

Maintain filing systems (digital and paper-based) and office supply levels

Schedule meetings and manage calendars

Greet visitors and manage incoming/outgoing post

Support basic HR administration, such as maintaining employee records and assisting with onboarding

What We're Looking For:



Experience working in a construction business (essential)

Solid understanding of Sage accounting software (essential)

Familiarity with AutoEntry (preferred)

Working knowledge of CIS and VAT regulations (strong advantage)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines

A proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to learn

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
