We are looking for an
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
to join our Accounts team on a full-time or part-time basis. (Monday - Friday.) This is a temporary role with the possibility of becoming permanent.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and passionate team that cares about the accuracy of their work and fully understands the part they play in supporting the organisation. The accounts assistant role provides daily support, primarily focussed on the sales ledger helping to ensure posting is done correctly and that our debtors are proactively managed and kept within terms. The role includes being responsible for expenses claims and internal credit card reconciliation. The role requires you to be diligent, thorough and have a good eye for detail.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The responsibilities of the role include -
Check customers credit ratings to ensure credit facilities can be granted or extended
Post invoices and credit notes
Credit control, ensuring customers pay on a timely basis, within agreed terms
Post and monitor expense claims and credit card transactions
Process credits and refunds as required
Reconcile shop daily takings
Allocate open receipts and invoices
Phone support
Provide copy invoices, as requested
Raise ad hoc manual invoices
Manage and continually update our debtors list
Provide support with daily cash book and cash flow management
Provide support to financial accountant and commercial manager as and when required
Supporting the purchase ledger team, covering where necessary
SKILLS REQUIRED
We are looking for someone who is approachable and motivated and be enthusiastic about contributing towards the Company values. We are also looking for someone who has -
A high degree of accuracy and eye for detail
Willing to take responsibility for their position
Ability to work to deadlines
Problem solving skills
Previous experience within an accounts department is preferred
Proactive and have a willingness to learn
Ability to accurately and methodically process large volumes of transactions
Excellent communication skills including strong business writing skills, tailored to the recipient
A team player and highly collaborative
Digital literacy: email, basic to intermediary MS Excel skills, word and competence with accountancy software experience
