Location: Hybrid \xe2\x80\x93 Flexibility to work for home however travel required to our Bristol office once a week

About the role:
The transactional finance team are the backbone of the finance department, recording the financial events taking place in Jisc. The team is made up of accounts payable, invoicing and credit control and are located across several Jisc office sites.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in an accounts department and has strong IT, communication, and organisational skills. The current role will sit in the accounts receivable team so experience in converting sales data into customer invoices would be an advantage.

We value meeting-based interactions and cross team working so there is the requirement to travel to the Bristol office once a week. This will also give you further opportunity for collaboration, experimentation, and creativity and to build relationships with the team and the area of the business unit you are working with.

Responsibilities will include:
Sales ledger

  • Assist in the production of sales invoices, accurately calculated, and raised in a timely manner.
  • Check that correct VAT treatment is applied to goods and services being invoiced to customers located within the UK and overseas.

Sales & purchase ledger
  • Provide support to team colleagues when required to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Ensure policy and procedures are followed and escalate non-compliance to the manager, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Assist in the shared email inboxes, prioritising responses to complex queries

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in transactional finance managing high value and high-volume data sets.
  • Strong focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills including a good all-round knowledge of Microsoft Office and expert level at Excel, including pivot tables and VLookup.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to balance multiple priorities in the face of competing deadlines
  • Ability to liaise effectively across all levels of the organisation including directors of the organisation.
