We are now looking for a diligent and organised
Accounts Assistant
to support our Finance Department. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with solid finance administration skills and a proactive approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities
Sort, verify, post, and file both Purchase Order (PO) and Non-PO related invoices
Reconcile accounts to ensure all invoices have been captured; request copies where needed
Match Accounts Payable balances to the General Ledger
Resolve invoice queries with internal teams and external suppliers
Assist in preparing payment runs to ensure timely supplier payments
Accurately process all aspects of Purchase Ledger activity
Verify subcontractors with HMRC and set up new subcontractors on the system
Input subcontractor certificates and issue remittances
Work collaboratively across the business, maintaining good working relationships
Contribute to the month-end finance process
Weekly payroll with costings
Requirements - Essential
Experience working within a similar role
Experience working with profit and loss accounts
Experience working with sub-contracts
Requirements - Desirable
Experience working within the construction industry
Experience using MS Word, Excel, and email professionally
Experience with Sage or similar accounting software
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent written and spoken English
A proactive team player who can adapt to new systems and processes
