To work with, and assist, colleagues and management in any way necessary to ensure the smooth running of an accountancy office
Assist with accounts production for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies - specifically initial file preparation and working papers to review point.
Occasional assistance with day-to-day bookkeeping for clients to include sales, purchases and bank account reconciliations
Maintain accounting records on Xero - this is the software that we predominantly use.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Preparation of accounts to trial balance stage - production of working papers file
Assistance with personal tax returns - processing data and preparing tax returns for review
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and experience of financial processes within an accounting practice
Experience of working with Xero
Good knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT
Competent in spreadsheets
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to work in a small team and communicate well
Ability to report to and take instructions from management and escalate accordingly
Keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy
Adaptable and organised
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 - 37.5 per week
