Part-Time Accounts Assistant
to support our finance team.
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial records and timely processing of transactions. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation and will involve working closely with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software.
Process invoices, expense claims, and payments in accordance with company policies.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies as necessary.
Support month-end closing activities by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the accounts department.
Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
Supporting cost analysis and expense tracking
Assisting with payroll preparation and staff expenses
Raising and sending customer invoices
General accounts admin and operational finance support
Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks
Skills
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero is preferable.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with colleagues and external partners.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Prior experience in a finance/accounts role (preferred)
Understanding of accruals, prepayments, and financial reporting
Good Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems
Experience with payroll and expense processing is a bonus
