We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Accounts Department. You will work closely with our Account Managers and other team members to manage day-to-day financial tasks.
Essential Requirements:
Applicants must have:
Experience using Sage software (or similar) accounting software.
Either
AAT Level 2 (or higher)
, or be a
final-year accountancy student
with relevant professional experience, or qualified by experience in a similar role
Skills and Experience
:
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and managing the accounts inbox
Printing and inputting purchase invoices into Sage, and filing hard copies
Reconciling the purchase ledger against supplier statements
Raising and sending sales invoices to customers
Logging petty cash expenses, maintaining physical records, and entering them into Sage
Tracking credit card purchases, maintaining physical records, and entering them into Sage
Processing remittances from customers, updating the sales ledger, and allocating payments in Sage
Assisting the Management Accountant with bank reconciliations
Supporting month-end reconciliations for our Invoice Discounting funder
Preparing and updating cashbooks and internal reconciliations
Assisting with VAT return preparation and data collation
Supporting the production of monthly management reports and internal summaries
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and filing systems
General office administration such as bookkeeping and answering phone calls
