We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Department. The position is full time but part time (no less than 28 hours) may be considered. The role is at entry level and will be fully office based at our Swanage branch. There is no opportunity for remote working within this role.
About you
Ideally you will have a minimum of 12 months recent accounts experience, gained within a fast paced professional environment, preferably within Legal Practice , although this certainly is not essential as training can be given.
You must be fully computer literate with good Excel skills and preferably be part qualified (AAT) or working towards this qualification (or similar). You will be highly organised with previous administration experience, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Suitable candidates must be proactive with a good eye for detail and be able to communicate effectively with their immediate colleagues whilst working to strict deadlines. The role
The role will entail carrying out the following tasks in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the highest level of service:
Accessing the firm's bank accounts online, checking for new transactions and completing paperwork as required
Drawing cheques and sending payments online
Dealing with Overseas Currency Transactions
Daily posting of all financial transactions
Checking and paying counsel fees etc as appropriate
Checking authorisation, coding, and posting supplier invoices.
Paying suppliers each month
Liaising with suppliers on accounts queries as necessary
Checking supplier statements against purchase ledger records
Filing of all related finance paperwork
Accurate and timely recording of banking and disbursement transactions
Reviewing and processing of expense claims
Assisting with Bill processing
Interest calculations on client money

Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm with 1 hour lunch (35 hours per week) Salary range: 22,222.20 p/a - pro rata if part time) Work location: Office based. Due to to the nature of work and client confidentiality, this role is not able to be worked remotely.
