Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant ready to join a growing property business with a vibrant and fast-paced environment? We're on the lookout for a confident, organised and customer-focused individual to join our Accounts & Finance team.

This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to work across different departments throughout the year -- perfect for someone looking to grow in the property sector while sharpening their financial skills.

Key Responsibilities



Reconcile electronic rent receipts and manage suspense account allocations Register tenancy deposits and process timely payments Audit tenancies, check commission calculations, and correct ledger errors Chase outstanding rent payments via phone and other methods Manage the client bank account, pay landlords and contractors Charge and issue statements to tenants, landlords, and contractors Update CRM with accurate, up-to-date relevant information Handle Council Tax and utilities administration, including exemption letters and usage charging Liaise with Plymouth City Council on tenant-related council tax matters Support face-to-face meetings regarding billing and usage Process refunds, credit notes and ensure commissions from suppliers are received Answer calls and respond to emails promptly and professionally Assist in other departments during peak periods (especially summer)

About You



Proven accounts or finance experience (essential) Excellent customer service and communication skills High attention to detail with strong organisational skills Calm under pressure and confident handling challenging conversations IT literate - comfortable with MS Office, internet, and email Flexible, positive and proactive with a team-oriented attitude NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or similar (desired) Experience in property or lettings sector is a bonus Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills Positive Attitude Solution & results focused. Flexible approach (For periods during the year there will be an expectation for you to carry out work within another department depending on the needs of the business) Ability to deliver excellent customer service. Developed time management skills to ensure effective management of own resources Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team Determination to secure new business with focussed action Negotiation skills to achieve the best outcome for the business and the customer. Conflict resolution within own levels of authority
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 24,000.00-26,000.00 per year
