We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes. This position is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in finance while contributing to the overall success of the team.
Purpose of the Role
To manage the College's financial accounts, focusing on high-level finance, fees, and both sales and purchase ledgers. The role supports the Bursar in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of transactions and debt collection.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
Maintain financial control and provide reports to the Bursar.
Manage banking, disbursements, petty cash, and monthly account preparation.
Reconcile accounts and liaise with budget holders and suppliers.
Oversee collection and banking of fees and income.
Fees and Sales Ledger
Process all student fee payments and manage credit control.
Liaise with sponsors, parents, and agents regarding overdue payments.
Reconcile receipts and maintain accurate records in ISAMS and Sage.
Process commission payments and ensure proper authorisation for refunds and write-offs.
Produce remittances/statements and ensure all financial records are audit ready.
Purchase Ledger
Daily maintenance of the receipts cash book
Issue of petty cash
Analysis and coding of supplier invoices
Recharging of departmental or pupil accounts from supplier invoices
Daily preparation of Purchase Orders and Good Receipts
Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements and appropriate follow up
Monthly scanning of documentation
Other Duties
Participate in training and performance appraisals.
Support college policies and ethos.
Collaborate with staff and contribute to safeguarding and health & safety.
