We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our Accountant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Accountant and wider management team in their daily activities, ensuring a smooth workflow.
The role will be on site, full time Monday-Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday 9am to 4pm.
Responsibilities
Manage incoming calls and respond to inquiries, maintaining professionalism and courtesy
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards using Xero
Processing incoming post
Producing and sending management reports to the senior management team
Preparing VAT returns
Maintaining accurate and complete records
Processing invoices and receipts
Responsible for the billing process and on-going management of timely collections of monies owed
Complying with financial regulations alongside in-house policies
Requirements
Proven experience in an Accounts support role is essential
Experience using Microsoft Office and Xero is desirable
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
