In the role of Accounts Assistant, you will be integral to the financial operations of our organisation, reporting directly to the Directors. Your core skills in accounting software will enable you to manage accounts payable efficiently, while your advanced proficiency in Sage and ConnX will enhance our financial reporting and analysis. Assist with the maintenance of financial procedures and administrative duties assigned.
Processing supplier and customer invoices into the accounting software.
Processing supplier payments and customer receipts into the accounting software.
Processing monthly payroll journals into Sage.
Reconciling the company's various bank accounts on Sage with the company's bank statements at the end of each month.
Preparing supplier payment runs.
Tracking customer and supplier balances and ensuring that the customer balances are settled within the credit terms set for each customer.
Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts
Assisting in the completion of quarterly VAT returns.
Prepare monthly financial statements including cash flow statements, profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Building a good rapport with clients and providing the accounting team with relevant and updated information
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations with a solid understanding of financial systems and processes
Assist in preparing employee payroll data each month
Assisting with various administrative duties
Responsible for raising purchase orders for the company.
Assist with budgeting, including forecasting cash flow and financial statements.
Requirements
Strong accounting background with at least 3 years of experience within the manufacturing and storage, and distribution industries.
Strong analytical skills, including attention to detail, with the ability to think outside of the box.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, accounting software, etc.
Be able to take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
Proactive attitude.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of SAGE 50 modules and ConnX Stock Management System are essential.
Part AAT qualified or pursuing ACCA qualifications.
