Part of a small, hardworking team, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for entering purchase invoices, entering cash books, preparing sales invoices and assisting with maintenance of Company accounting records. The role reports to the Company Management Accountant.
25 hours per week over 4 or 5 days (Monday to Friday) between 9am and 5.30pm
13.32/hour
165 hours annual leave including allowance for bank holidays, competitive pension and insurances
Office-based role
City centre location (Plymouth) with parking available.
To prepare sales invoices.
To maintain the purchase ledger.
To enter cash receipts and payments.
To update essential spreadsheets for various accounting purposes.
To prepare accounting analysis as required.
To attend telephone enquiries about payment and accounts.
To welcome visitors to the office.
To assist with any other ad-hoc accounting or administration duties.
The successful candidate will be joining a small but busy accounts department. A positive attitude with a minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts role and a careful and accurate approach to work is essential. You will be experienced in the use in modern computer systems including Outlook and Excel and must be able to evidence 5 good GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Grade C/5) and preferably AAT (level 2) and experience of using a modern accounting software.
The Company will consider a trainee who is interested to undertake AAT NVQ2, however terms including pay will be altered from the base terms set out above during the training period.
