Accounts Assistant

Reporting To



Company Secretary, TWW Yacht Management Ltd.



The Accounts Assistant role is focused on supporting the day-to-day shore-based fiscal management of the yachts within the TWW Yacht Management fleet. It is a process-driven and detail-focused position that covers all areas of the daily fiscal operation of TWW Yacht Management and the vessels we manage.

You will be a key member of the Accounts Department and the TWW Yacht Management team, who are based throughout our U.K. and EU office locations.

You will be joining the TWW group at an exciting time of international expansion. This role provides a unique opportunity to apply excellent bookkeeping and administrative skills to a range of different financial situations in the UK and abroad.

This role will include...

Verifying, processing and recording transactions throughout our dedicated financial software

Making bank payments across multiple banking platforms

Dealing with multi-country VAT guidelines/regulations

Monitoring the central mailbox for all communications relating to fiscal matters plus managing and filing correspondence as appropriate

Managing the vessel debit card accounts including checking all receipts submitted, ensuring disbursements are correctly handled, loading funds to the team as necessary & exporting completed transactions to software weekly

Processing multi-currency invoices into and between integrated software applications. Ensuring everything is correctly described, account-coded, scheduled for payment and reconciliation

Working with the Yacht Managers to ensure they are kept aware of their vessel funds status and ensuring client funding requests are actioned in a timely fashion

Preparing and producing monthly, annual and ad-hoc financial statements as well as management reports for managed yachts (incl. profit & loss statements, balance sheets, debtor statements, financial projections, etc.)

Maintaining supplier contacts, including relevant addresses, VAT and payment/banking information

Independently managing administrative tasks and reporting duties

Ensuring relevant regulations, standards and good working practices are maintained throughout

Maintaining regular and professional communication, support and collaboration with all TWW Yacht Management colleagues, the wider TWW Yachts Group and all key stakeholders. Including Captains, crews, insurers, suppliers, classification societies, flag states, fiduciary service providers, etc. As well as technical, project and Operational managers, brokerage, charter and senior management

Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met by Captains and Pursers

Maintaining a very high level of client confidentiality

Ensuring all client financial reporting deadlines are met

Representing the company at related external events

The role will offer the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of a unique, interesting and exclusive area of accounting. Familiarisation and training with shipping, yachting/ maritime terminology and practices will be provided on the job.

Who We Are Looking For



A motivated and diligent individual with the drive and integrity to provide our clients with the outstanding service they are accustomed to. They will have a keen eye for detail and an excellent ability for administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will be from a finance background. A collaborative team member who can deliver under time pressures. Previous experience within the Yachting industry is advantageous, but not essential.

The Skills We Are Looking For



AAT level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with experience in a similar role is desirable

Experience in a multi-currency environment is advantageous

Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles

Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to learn

Excellent time management and organisational skills

A client-centric attitude and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service

A working knowledge of relevant international fiscal, regulatory, VAT and/or banking requirements would be a benefit

An excellent working knowledge of Xero

A strong ability with computing software. Including all Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word and Outlook)

A working knowledge of Dext software and debit card platforms would be advantageous

What We Can Offer You



Gross Salary

: 40k - 45k DOE

Bonuses:

Discretionary and performance-based

Commissions:

Commissions available for new business, including Management, Sales Brokerage and Charter

Holiday:

20 days pa (plus UK public holidays)

Extra Leave:

The working days between Christmas and New Year are "gifted" on top of any holiday allowance

Hybrid Working:

(Office-based during probation period) 1 day working from home per week or accrued into 1 week working from home per month, plus additional allowances for time served or experience

Flexible start dates depending on candidate availability

Working Hours:

Flexible start times between 08:00 and 10:00, with an 8-hour working day

Company equipment provided:

Laptop, cell phone, large monitor screens for home working

Business Travel:

Some out-of-office travel could be anticipated. All reasonable and justifiable receipted costs, and per diems, are paid or reimbursed. Marketing-based expenses are approved in advance
