About our Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a high calibre Accounts Assistant who is dependable, initiative-taking, enthusiastic, well organised and who can work effectively within a team. We are looking for someone who is driven to succeed in an evolving and diverse work environment.
This role is an essential part of the Finance team and the successful postholder will focus their efforts on supporting the growth of Glass Futures and will be instrumental in contributing to the continued success of this high-profile not-for-profit organisation.
Collaborating with leading industry experts from the glass and technology sectors and due to the nature of the business and our St Helens project (Centre of Excellence), a background in industry is highly advantageous for this role, however we are also open to hearing from exceptional experienced candidates with a wide scope of experience, demonstrable transferable skills, and core values aligned with our own to become an essential part of our team.
Core Responsibilities:
Purchase ledger - process invoices, supplier statement reconciliations, resolve supplier queries, payment run processing.
Sales ledger - raise invoices/credits, allocation of payments, chase outstanding payments
Stock control and GRNI - support the updating and reconciling of stock records to the accounting system
Bank reconciliations - Sterling and Euros
Processing Expenses/credit card management
Supporting payroll queries and liaising with our external payroll provider
Gather financial data for reporting
Support with month-end procedures
Liaise with internal stakeholders with regards to status of project related spend
Support with generating Purchase orders
General Finance administration tasks
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
Previous experience in a transactional finance role
Understanding of double-entry
A keen eye for detail
Analytical skills - ability to interpret financial data
Good finance systems and excel skills
Person Specification:
Confident communicator with stakeholders, contractors and colleagues
Proactive in identifying solutions
Team player - works collaboratively and flexibly to achieve outcomes and is keen to add value to the organisations culture and ethos
Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Ability to learn procedures so the organisation is compliant with relevant confidentiality and IP policies
Flexible, positive and adaptable, willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks
Salary:
29,000 - 32,000
Working Hours:
Full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours - we work flexibly within our core hours of 8am-4pm to support essential work life balance.
Location:
This role is predominantly site-based role at our St Helens facility
Holidays:
27 days holiday plus bank holidays (FTE), pro rata may apply. Plus, additional service days.
