About the role:
We are looking for a confident, well-organised and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the business. You'll work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and smooth transaction processing.
This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills across various areas of finance, contribute to continuous improvement, and support the wider team with reporting and compliance.

You will be responsible for:
? Working with our Supplier Management team to onboard new suppliers, record purchase invoices and reconcile the supplier statements using our purchase order records to prepare payment lists.
? Onboard new trade customers, produce sales invoices and manage accounts receivables.
? Resolve internal, customer and supplier queries.
? Complete bank and payment platform provider reconciliation.
? Process, record and manage reimbursement of Director and employee expenses.
? Support month end procedures including management of the fixed asset register, prepayments and accruals.
? Support quarterly VAT returns and monthly IOSS VAT returns.
? Support in production of year end accounts and assist with audits.
? Support other members of the team with accounts related activities, ad-hoc general ledger activity and reporting.
? Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
About you:
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
? Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and self-review.
? Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
? Proactive and self-motivated, with a curious mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
? Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and work independently when needed.
Qualifications and experience you have:
? Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and manage data efficiently.
? AAT Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent qualification or experience).
? Knowledge/experience with accounting and business software such as Sage50, Odoo, or similar ERP systems (desirable).
? Experience using HMRC portals, BrightPay, ONS portal, and Barclays online banking (desirable).
