Job Description

Affect are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team. The role will allow for flexibility in hours and a hybrid working pattern.

Affect is a growing accountancy firm which mainly works with video game, tech, entrepreneurial and film clients. We are based in a small office in the Essex countryside near Sudbury (CO10 7JT) but staff are also able to work from home to increase happiness and productivity with all staff in on Tuesdays each week/fortnight.

Affect have some fantastically creative clients who are too busy to carry-out activities such as payroll, administration and bookkeeping themselves so we provide an outsourced service. We do not process reams of paper receipts as all of our clients are technically adept so use automated solutions such as Xero, Hubdoc and Dext.

Responsibilities



The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Running monthly payroll for clients with 1-30 employees Assisting clients with general client queries Reconciling the bank account through software such as Xero and Quickbooks Obtaining backup documentation for expenses from clients Preparing management accounts for use by a few clients when making business decisions Reporting games revenues and profit shares for a few clients Checking and submitting VAT returns to HMRC Assisting the team with accounts preparation Completing Companies House filings Carrying out client identification checks Preparing engagement letters Monitoring upcoming client deadlines

To succeed, you will need:



AAT level 4, or equivalent level Post qualification experience in practice 2+ years Confidence in working with a range of cloud accounting software and apps Drivers license due to remote office location Excellent attention to detail Good communication & interpersonal skills The ability to liaise confidently with a range of clients and offer exceptional customer service Ability to work as a team member Experience in using Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email, internet, and shared drives Flexibility
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 21 - 35 per week
