We are a national cleaning company based in Swansea , looking to expand the accounts team with a full time accounts assistant, working with the Finance Manager and payroll assistant.
Office hours are 9am-5pm( 1/2 hr lunch ), Working days are Monday to Friday.
This role will suit an experienced accounts assistant and must have AAT, to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in VAT, accounts and payroll preparation.
Duties
Vat returns Monthly
Raising invoices Monthly
Bank reconciliation
Generating reports
Credit control
Assisting with Payroll preparation when required Monthly
Liaising with HMRC when required
Processing employee expenses
Handle all phone queries
Reconcile Supplier Statements
payroll processing
General admin duties and office support is also required during busy times
Skills
At least 5 years working in Finance
IT proficient-good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of QuickBooks essential
Experience of credit control
Superb numeracy and organisation skills
An enthusiastic attitude to work
Deadline driven and the ability to work under pressure
Strong time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work.

Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
- Perform data entry tasks to update financial records and maintain accurate accounting information
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
- Utilize accounting software QuickBooks to perform daily tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Note: Prior experience in a similar role or educational background in accounting or finance is preferred.
