Job Overview


We are looking for a diligent

Accounts Assistant

who is able to quickly understand our business and work independently, with oversight from a part time FD.

Responsibilities



Working with HSBC & HSBCnet



Pay suppliers & other bills HSBCNet (Invoice Factoring) Statement Reconciliations Arranging & updating credit insurance on Allianz & HSBCnet Drawing down funds from Invoice Factoring Applying for HSBC TradePay Finance (trade loan facility)

Xero



Allocate customer payments to the correct orders Reconciling transactions Upload bank statements Utilising Xero Reports Forwarding bills to Xero and approving them Uploading orders from our CRM system to Xero

Payroll



Liaise with payroll about monthly PAYE Booking pay day payments

Monthly Journals



Payroll Goods in Transit & reversals Deferred Income & reversals Accruals Prepayments Stock BBL interest Monthly depreciation of assets in Xero Correct suspense accounts if necessary

VAT



Filling UK VAT returns Paying VAT to HMRC Liaise with external accountant regarding Irish VAT returns Uploading PVA Statements & C79 certificates

Managing Working Capital



Managing day-to-day cashflow Approving ebay payments Managing trade loan payments Repaying suppliers in due course Keeping up with customer rebate schemes

Requirements



AAT level 3, ICB or QBE. At least two years experience in a similar role. Proficient with Xero. Double entry bookkeeping. Experience with invoice factoring / invoice discounting. Advanced IT skills, including strong experience with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Strong understanding of the business environment and how financial management supports strategic goals. Confident communicator by phone and email. Good time management. Clean DBS check.
