Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department by managing various financial tasks and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in finance and accounting, looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to suppliers. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks. Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly. Support the month-end closing process by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Assist with data entry and maintain organised filing systems for financial documents. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Respond to inquiries from suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding account status and payment issues.

Experience

Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks, is highly desirable. A basic understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting would be advantageous. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential for success in this role. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
